The senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mr. Nitin Gadkari spoke at a journalism awards function held in Maharashtra’s Nagpur and said an opposition leader offered his support to him for PM’s post, however, Mr. Gadkari rejected his offer.
He also said ‘There was a surprising incident. I would not name anyone — that person said if you are going to become PM we will support you’. In return, Mr. Gadkari said ‘Why should you support me and why should I take your support?’ He then added ‘To become a PM is not an aim in my life, I am loyal to my conviction and my organization, and I am not going to compromise for any post, My conviction is the utmost thing and our conviction is the true strength of Indian democracy’.
